Privacy Policy — Character Skipper for YouTube

Character Skipper for YouTube ("the extension") is designed to be fully private. All processing happens locally, inside your own browser. The extension does not have a backend server and does not send your data anywhere.

What the extension does

You choose people ("characters") you want to skip. The extension analyzes the frames of the YouTube video you are watching, on your device, to detect when those people appear, and automatically skips those scenes.

Data the extension processes

• Video frames from YouTube: individual frames of the video you are watching are read from the page and analyzed in memory for face detection. Frames are processed transiently and are not stored or transmitted.
• Face descriptors: for the characters you save, the extension computes numeric face embeddings (mathematical vectors) and stores them locally on your device using the browser's storage API, so your characters can be recognized across videos. These never leave your device.
• Preferences and statistics: your settings (threshold, toggles) and local counters (detections, skips) are stored locally on your device only.

Data we do NOT collect

The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Specifically it does not send video frames, face data, browsing history, identifiers, or any other data to us or to any third party. There are no analytics, no tracking, and no external network requests — the face-recognition models and fonts are bundled inside the extension package.

Where your data is stored

Everything is stored locally in your browser's extension storage. You can remove all stored data at any time by deleting your saved characters in the extension, or by removing the extension from Chrome.

Permissions

• storage — to save your characters and preferences locally.
• activeTab / scripting — to run the local detection engine on the YouTube tab you are actively viewing.
• Host access to youtube.com — so the extension only runs on YouTube.

Children's privacy

The extension does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "last updated" date.

Character Skipper for YouTube tamamen gizli olacak şekilde tasarlandı. Tüm işlemler cihazınızda, tarayıcınızın içinde yerel olarak yapılır. Eklentinin bir sunucusu yoktur ve verilerinizi hiçbir yere göndermez.

İşlenen veriler

• YouTube video kareleri: izlediğiniz videonun kareleri cihazınızda, bellekte yüz tespiti için analiz edilir. Kareler geçici olarak işlenir, saklanmaz ve gönderilmez.
• Yüz tanımlayıcıları (descriptor): kaydettiğiniz karakterler için sayısal yüz vektörleri hesaplanır ve yalnızca cihazınızda yerel olarak saklanır. Cihazınızdan asla çıkmaz.
• Tercihler ve istatistikler: ayarlarınız ve sayaçlar yalnızca yerel olarak saklanır.

Toplamadığımız veriler

Eklenti hiçbir kişisel veriyi toplamaz, göndermez, satmaz veya paylaşmaz. Analitik, takip veya harici ağ isteği yoktur — yüz tanıma modelleri ve fontlar paketin içinde gömülüdür.
